Lennert de Jong   Lennert de Jong worked for various companies in the hotel industry, including SynXis, a central reservation system and distribution solution for hotels, where he played a key role in growing the European portfolio of hotels from 0 to 3500 hotels. Lennert is now responsible for citizenM's automated reservation and revenue management processes and demand generating activities.

David Knuff   David Knuff is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Oregon State University-Cascades. Prior to returning to school in pursuit of his Ph.D., David worked in the material handling industry in a sales and marketing capacity. He held an account executive position with Crown Lift Trucks for several years. After Crown David went to work as a sales manager with Cisco-Eagle, Inc.

Dr. Knuff's research is primarily consumer behavior oriented. Specifically, in the areas of green consumerism, question and behavior phenomenon, social media, and WOM communication. His research has been published in academic journals as well as discipline specific conference proceedings. He is currently developing a social media marketing training series.
Samad Laaroussi   Samad Laaroussi, Professor of Marketing and Researcher Dr Laaroussi holds a PhD degree in economic and social science. He worked for the University of Geneva, where he was responsible for monitoring practical and lab courses mainly for Bachelor and Master students. In parallel, he created and managed a dedicated website for students. This concept was awarded a prize for innovative teaching at the annual AGORATEC Conference (Forum for innovative pedagogy and new technologies in education). In addition, he co-founded the Observatory in Sales and Marketing Strategies (OVSM), a research, training and consulting network. OVSM includes, among its founding members and partners, major companies such as Caterpillar, Firmenich SA, FNAC CH, HP, Banque Mirabaud, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, groupe RICHEMONT, etc.

During his studies, Dr Laaroussi also developed and launched one of the first Cybercafés in Geneva. This first professional experience was followed by a year spent as part of a joint venture created by IBM and Swisscom, where he was responsible for Internet training.

Dr Laaroussi then worked for two years as a market research specialist for Sanofi-Aventis Suisse, implementing their CRM system (Customer Relationship Marketing). He continued as an independent marketing research consultant for national and international companies. He is a member of several scientific associations including AFM (Association Française du marketing) and Marketing Science.

At EHL, Dr Laaroussi is professor of marketing and leading at the same time applied research projects for Kempinski luxury hotels group.
Farhan Lalji   Farhan Lalji is the European Marketing Operations Manager for Yahoo! with responsibilities for marketing channel objectives and measurement across the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.  Farhan plays an instrumental part in leading European Marketing at Yahoo! into social media.  Previously, Farhan was the head of Business Development and a senior Strategy consultant with Precedent Communications in London working with clients in the Education, health, finance and other industries.  Farhan has an Executive MBA from London Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics from McMaster University.

Hilary Murphy   Hilary Catherine Murphy is a professor and a researcher at Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne,  Haute Ecole Spécialisée de la Suisse Occidentale , (University of Applied Sciences- University of Western Switzerland). She has a Ph.D in the diffusion of information and communications technology in the hotel sector from the University of Wales; an M.Phil, also from the University of Wales; a post-graduate diploma in business information technology and a Bachelor degree in business administration, marketing and law from the University of Strathclyde; and a diploma in data processing from Louisiana State University in the USA.

Dr Murphy has extensive business experience in sales and marketing management in addition to her experience as a teacher and researcher. She was a consultant and researcher for Xansa and is currently working on several Swiss government funded projects in addition to industry-funded projects. Dr. Murphy has published many technical articles in academic journals and is a frequent presenter at key industry conferences throughout Europe. Her research interests are:

RolandSchegg   Dr. Roland Schegg is a professor and head of the Tourism Management Unit at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland Valais in Sierre. Between 2000 and 2004 he was with the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. He earned his BS from the Swiss Federal Institute for Technology and his PhD from the University of Geneva. His research interests include eService metrics, technology adoption, eTourism and sustainable development such as saving energy in tourism.

Eric R. Spangenberg   Dr. Eric R. Spangenberg is Dean of the College of Business at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, USA where he is also professor of marketing and holder of the Geoff and Florence Maughmer Freedom Philosophy Endowed Chair. Dr. Spangenberg is also a permanent visiting professor in the Center for Customer Insight at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Spangenberg earned his bachelor’s degree at Washington State University, holds an MBA from Portland State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington.

Dr. Spangenberg’s primary areas of research expertise include self-prediction as an influence technique for encouraging socially desirable behaviors, psychometrics, and environmental psychology. Spangenberg is an award-winning teacher and his widely cited research includes work published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Psychological Science, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. He has also served on editorial review boards for publication outlets of this caliber.
